This is my beautiful grandma, Yolly holding a very sleepy Abby. This picture was taken back in November.
My grandma (or "G" as we call her) has always been a fighter. It’s probably the Italian in her. She’s a feisty one, but that’s just a small part of her that makes her so loveable. I mean geez, being Italian, you’re either fighting or kissing, right?!
For a while now, my grandma’s been fighting a personal battle. You see, she has a rare form of cancer that for the most part stays "dormant". The tricky part is when it isn’t dormant, it becomes very aggressive, things progress rapidly, and in result causes many other problems.
Cancer sucks.
Well, my grandma is fighting. She’s unbelievably strong. I mean, she’s been from home, to ER, to hospital, to home, to ER, to nursing home, to home, to ER, to intensive care, and to hospital. And probably more. She’s fighting. And winning.
My mom texted me not to long ago that my grandma is going home. Then she texted again that my grandma "looks radiant". I wouldn’t expect anything less.
I saw this video today, and I thought of my grandma. The guy singing is Mike Guglielmucci. He wrote this song the day he found out he had terminal cancer. He’s fighting. And he’s winning.
The words are:
You hold my every moment
You calm my raging seas
You walk with me through fire
And heal all my disease
I trust in You
I trust in You
I believe You’re my Healer
I believe You are all I need
I believe You’re my Portion
I believe You’re more than enough for me
Jesus You’re all I need
My Healer, You’re my Healer
Nothing is impossible for You
Nothing is impossible for You
Nothing is impossible for You
You hold my world in Your hands
That is my prayer for my grandma. "Grandma, you’ll probably never read this because you hate computers, but ‘I love you.’ I wish I was there with you. Keep fighting, you’re doing a great job. Oh, and please don’t be mad that I put a picture of you on the internet."

Erin,
Your Grandma is an inspiration of strength. That song is incredibly powerful, I had never heard it before. My mom’s best friend was just diagnosed with cancer, they are still trying to figure out all the details but I told my mom to check out your site before they head to the doctor tomorrow for testing. I pray that God will be her healer as well.
Josh,
Yolie is in our prayers.
Those words reached out to a lot of people!
Mom, Sonja
