After our wonderful time with Josh’s family, we got to spend our next Christmas with my family. This was an extra special treat since many of my cousins and Aunt Verla came into town at the same time. It was a crazy, wonderful, chaotic time and Abby enjoyed every minute of it (unless she was ready for a nap).
Here’s a family picture (sans Uncle Wes and Aunt Tami). I can’t think of the last time we were all in the same place, and it was absolutely a joy.
We haven’t seen some of my cousins since Abby’s baby shower, so it was wonderful to hang out. Here is cousin Micayla playing with Abby…
…and Josh with Josh.
Since this was Abby’s second Christmas experience of the year, she really took to gift opening. The family had a blast taking this all in with her…
Aunt Tami and Great Aunt Verla looking on.
Aunt Sharon and Uncle Wes.
Here she is opening her very own Cabbage Patch doll.
I believe this is the point where she took a deep breath in and out came, "Baby". Score one for Auntie Sharon!
Mom and Dad also made a delicious meal that we thoroughly enjoyed.
"More sweet potatoes please!"
As you can imagine, Abby was pretty tuckered out by the end of the evening. Grandpa Don didn’t mind too much…
It was another wonderful time spent with family. One that we will cherish forever…not only cause Abby’s closet is busting at the seems with toys. Our time with our families was the Christmas we have always hoped for with our first child. Abby brought a whole new energy to everything that we did the whole holiday season. And every time she would form her lips into an "o" and gasp, her parents were on cloud nine.
