a whole different animal

Standard

From the get-go, this pregnancy has been very different from the last. If this is any indication of how different Abby and Zack will be, we are in for an adventure.

Nausea/Vomiting: Pretty bad with both, including a trip to the E.R. with Zack. However, I haven’t thrown up with Zack since last month, but was sick with Abby till I delivered.

Heartburn: Didn’t start popping the Tums till the last month with Abby and it was pretty bad by the end, enough so that I had to stop pushing to deal with my reflux for about an hour. BUT I have been taking Pepcid for a month now with Zack…four months before I’m due. This is a little scary.

Potty time: Am constantly going to the restroom with Zack, including twice in the middle of the night. With Abby, I thought there was something wrong with me, cause I didn’t need to pee any more than normal.

Movement: Abby was active. Zack is the Tasmanian Devil…especially at night.

Sleep: Slept pretty well with Abby till the last month or so. I am constantly waking up with Zack, to adjust positions due to hip and leg pain. Again, still 3 months to go…oye!

Size: I am feeling like my tummy is much bigger (and I am feeling much more pregnant) at this point with Zack than with Abby. And yup, the Doc is also pretty confident that this little Guy is going to be bigger than his Sis, at least at birth.

I will leave out the rest of the gory details that go with pregnancy, but just thought I’d share a little more about how this is going. Thanks for reading.

  1. OH, ERIN. I LOVE THE BREAKDOWN, SWEETIE! PLEASE TAKE IT EASY AND THAT IS EASY TO SAY AND HARD TO DO..ESPECIALLY WITH THE STEPS IN YOUR HOME ON TOP OF EVERYTHING ELSE.

HAS ABBY INQUIRED AS TO THE LARGE “BUMP” WHEN SHE SITS ON YOUR LAP? JUST WONDERING….

IS THE DOC SURE THAT IS JUST ONE IN THERE???? NO FROZEN EMBRYO’S OR NOTHIN LIKE THAT, EH? THAT WE DIDN’T KNOW ABOUT????? NOT FUNNY, I KNOW.

WELL, I THINK IT IS BETTER THAT ZACK IS LARGER THAN ABBY; HOWEVER SORRY FOR YOUR HIPS AND LEGS. AND THE THING ABOUT GETTING UP MORE AT NIGHT??? SO ANNOYING, EH?

BUT, IT WILL ALL BE WORTH IT VERY SOON….WISH I WERE THERE TO HELP YOU MORE!

    LOVE TO ALL
    GRANDMA DELLA XOXO

  2. Everyone always says “every pregnancy is different”, you believe them, but it doesn’t really hit you until you are there. You know, they say the worse your heartburn is, the more hair the baby has…and there are more and more tales that I am sure could explain every uncomfortable moment. I, however, have only 6 weeks left until the ACTUAL due date. That means only about 5 weeks or so until I get to be un-pregnant, but have to experience the lovely AFTER-pregnancy uncomfortable moments. NANANANANANANANANA….(that is Kaeden’s new thing, the taunt, isnt’ that great?!) XOXO, hang in there, see you soon!

  3. Erin, I had everything you are having with both of my boys except NO heartburn, (I don’t think I have ever had it, sorry) but both my boys had lots of hair, in fact, Caden looked like an eskimo! I NEVER slept well, felt like I was carrying a football team, went to the bathroom constantly and felt bigger with the 2nd one. But they were easy once they
arrived, so I always feel like I paid my dues when I was pregnant. I pray it is the same for you!
    Take care of yourself.
    Sheila
